The stories we share about our lives and everyday experiences shape the world we live in and often determine the ways others understand their place in the world. By making spaces for the telling and preservation of diverse stories, oral history can support a more capacious and inclusive historical narrative. Your story matters to us and we would love to include your voice in our archive.
We are particularly interested in finding narrators for our two newest collections:
Texan Pride– stories of LGBTQ+ Texans
Gone to Texas: Exploring the Impact of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965– stories from immigrants to Texas and their children
Please let us know if you would like to add your voice to our archive! Email Van Wagner at van@diversityandciviclife.org to connect with one of our oral historians.
